Here once again we had the opportunity to turn our customer’s dream into a reality. We renovated this unused tired building into a luxurious contemporary guest house. By maintaining its open plan-style we were able to turn a dark barn into a bright spacious well-designed home.

This beautifully converted barn features underfloor heating throughout. An intelligent smart home system remotely controls the security, heating, blinds, and many other applications.

We made and fitted a bespoke open plan kitchen as well as 2 luxury bathrooms. All complemented by an artistic and modern style carefully picked by our interior designer. Together we achieved maximum desirability and comfort whilst winning the hearts of our lovely customers.

This project came with quite a unique challenge…

Upon initial survey, the customer expressed a strong desire to have the main roof binder removed; This would ensure the open feeling of the barn was maintained in the new bedroom. However, also creating quite the challenge to overcome, as doing so would remove the structural integrity of the roof.

Solution: Working closely with our structural engineer we managed to achieve a steel A Frame design, this would transfer the load perfectly from the roof to the floor whilst eliminating the spread.

Thanks to the nice people at B.A.Boyle & Son ltd our old and rather neglected barn has been given a new lease of life.  Wilford Lodge has been in the family for over 40 years.  The barn was used by my parents initially for entertaining, and latterly as a bit of a storage room.

We have lots of friends and wanted a space to allow visitors a degree of independence with an eye of eventually using it for elderly relatives.

The job was quite a large one and involved moving the mezzanine floor from one end of the barn to the other, creating two fully functioning bathrooms and extending an area to create a second bedroom.  Everything was re-wired and underfloor heating was installed.  The transformation is now complete and everything is finished to a very high standard.  The property now feels brand new and is a very comfortable two bedroom self contained unit.  I am also pleased to say that the snagging list is very short and the father and son team a pleasure to work with, and coordinated particularly well with other trades that they brought in to cover specialist areas like the electrics.
